Common variants: 1Y / 3Y / 5Y
- Definition
- Measures the change in a metric that is already a percentage, such as margins, yields, payout ratios or returns. The screener does not use percentage points as a separate persisted unit; everything is expressed as percentage scale.
- Calculation
- current_percentage - historical_percentage
- Persisted Unit
- Stored in percentage scale. If a margin moves from 10% to 15%, the persisted value is 5.0 and is displayed as 5.0%.
- When To Use It
- Appropriate for comparing changes in percentage metrics already normalized by revenue, assets, market cap or cash flow. It should not be used for absolute values such as net income, OCF, FCF or net debt.
- Difference vs CAGR, Delta and NormalizedChangePct
- ChangePct does not annualize and does not divide by the historical base: it subtracts two percentages. CAGR annualizes growth. Delta subtracts ratios or multiples. NormalizedChangePct compares absolute values against historical magnitude.
